Are you Rooted?
As a Christian writer, I love sharing what I see in the Word of God. Traveling the U.S. has given me an even greater understanding of the present-day climate of the American church.
My journey of exposure started in 2021 but grew to a peak in 2022-2023. As a junior in high school, I chose to write a paper on Revelation and Daniel while applying to the climate of church and state. That started what would later develop into researching occults and the areas of theology most churches shy away from. Another sample of my high school pursuits was a paper regarding the destruction of tradition and its replacement of the true zeal for Jesus, our Messiah. During this time, I was visiting several churches across the country and received a brief overview of the predominant issue: complacency. Christ Jesus is our Messiah, but we have neglected to see Him as anything other than a weekend add-on. In doing so, our foundation becomes unstable as we build with other materials. When we are rooted in Christ, the storms that come with life will not shake us.
This blog serves as a reminder to take our relationship with Christ seriously. Either He is our Redeemer or He is only a moral compass. He is our God or our tradition. Bringing unity back to Christianity is necessary before we ever move forward effectively as the body of Christ. But in order to unify, we must grow in discipline and faith. Will we count the cost?
The enemy may wish to try to make us stumble, but He holds us in His hands (John 10:29). We are bought by His precious blood and have been called sons and daughters of the Most High through adoption (Ephesians 1). We are called to be living sacrifices as we try to repay Him for His unending compassion and kindness displayed by His sacrificial death (John 10:17-18, Romans 5:8, Romans 12:1-2).
We, however, cannot live for the King who paid our pardon if we do not know what we are saved from, what we are saved for (Colossians 2:6-7).

Growth – without growing, you cannot know your Lord
Unity – without unity, you cannot be a fruitful companion to the bride of Christ, the body of believers (locally and worldwide)
Discipline – without facing the trials and pruning of our Lord, we cannot expect to have a quality relationship with Him
Faith – without trusting fully on Him, where would we be?

If we choose to not grow, even when it gets hard and ugly, we should not expect to be impactful Christians, nor should we assume our relationship with Christ is healthy. So why don’t you join me in checking what foundation we are rooted in and growing deep into that nutritious soil of His Word?
Faith is like a mustard seed, but without the pruning and the correct nutrition, you might as well kill the plant.
As you therefore have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith, as you have been taught, abounding in it with thanksgiving.
Colossians 2:6-7 (NKJV)
